The Top 10 Best Beer Chugging Athletes
Tossing back a beer for the fans should start to become a regular part of an athlete’s contract. Here’s some of the best (and a surprise worst) to do it!

Athletes have been showing off their beer-chugging skills a lot lately. There’s nothing more entertaining than watching celebrities chug beers (Thanks to Aaron Rodgers, this is a common occurrence) and we love the fact that our favourite athletes are total beer lovers just like us! Which is why we’ve compiled this list of our top 10 favourite athletes crushing beers for the fans:
Our 10 Favourite Athletes Chugging Beers on TV
Tom Brady – New England Patriots QB
The best quarterback of all time, Tom Brady, shocked audiences when he went on Stephen Colbert’s late-night talk show and chugged a beer. But here’s the thing, Tom CRUSHED that beer. MVP of our hearts, MVP of the Super Bowl and MVP of beer-chugging athletes.
David Bakhtiari – Green Bay Packers OT
This very large human once again had Aaron Rodger’s back, as he does during the football season while attending a Milwaukee Bucks game recently. When Rodgers couldn’t hold up his end of the bargain, David Bakhtiari was there to jump in and take the heat.
Madison Bumgarner – San Francisco Giants P
In terms of legendary, it’s hard to top one of baseball’s top pitchers, Madison Bumgarner, downing FIVE beers at the same time.
TJ Oshie – Washington Capitals RW
During the Washington Capitals Stanley Cup celebration, we were introduced to a new type of beer drinking by TJ Oshie, who has shown the world how to drink a beer through a hockey jersey.
Mitch Trubisky – Chicago Bears QB
In yet another mention of Aaron Rodgers (we’ll get there), his NFC North rival QB Mitch Trubisky showed off his beer chugging skills while out at Chicago White Sox game. Your move, Rodgers.
Christian Yelich – Milwaukee Brewers OF
With David Bakhtiari making another guest appearance, he encourages his fellow Milwaukee athlete, Christian Yelich, to down a beer and fire up the fans at the Milwaukee Bucks game.
Alex Ovechkin – Washington Capitals LW
While he may have spent his entire summer chugging beers, I don’t think we can write a full article about Alexander Ovechkin’s beer intake over that entire period. This summer adventure featured fountain swims, keg stands out of the Stanley Cup and more.
Mike Scott – Philadelphia 76ers PF
While he may be one of the lesser-known players on this list, he had one of the most memorable beer moments. After diving for a loose ball and falling into the stands, he reaches over and takes a drink out of a fan’s beer!
Rob Gronkowski – Retired New England Patriots TE
Gronk, as he’s aptly known as, is one of the best beer chuggers on this list. He has spent his offseasons for years crushing beers and partying. Luckily for us fans, we have seen the Patriots win a few championships lately and that leads to some wild Gronk sightings.
A Dishonourable Mention:
Aaron Rodgers, legendary Green Bay Packers QB, broke our hearts when he couldn’t complete the challenge posed to him by fans – he wouldn’t finish his beer. That’s why he had to get owned by David Bakhtiari and Christian Yelich at the same game. Tough look, my friend. It was only half a beer!
