8 Reasons to Attend Calgary’s International Beerfest

Calgary International Beerfest is being held on October 15 & 16, 2021 and you don’t want to miss it! Try over 700 local beers from over 160 breweries from Calgary and across Canada!

8 Reasons to Attend Calgary’s International Beerfest

The Calgary International Beerfest returns to the BMO Centre on Stampede Park on October 15th & 16th. After years of missing beer festivals, pairing craft beers with random snacks at tents and just basking in the presence of other beer lovers… Calgary’s International Beerfest is back and prepared to give YYC the best beer event (while still staying safe and abiding by local COVID-19 protocol and regulations.)

In anticipation of Beerfest’s return, we’ve teamed up with Alberta Beer Festivals (ABF) to put together the top 8 reasons that you won’t want to miss Calgary International Beerfest this year!

8 Reasons You Won’t Want to Miss the Calgary International Beerfest

There’s going to be beer there. A lot of it.

This year, Calgary International Beerfest will feature over 700 beers from 160 breweries. With food with over 25 different local restaurants and pubs to pair it with.

We know this reason is enough for you to buy your ticket to Calgary International Beerfest, but we’re going to keep going anyway.

You’ll be supporting local breweries & your local beer community

We all know how important it is to support local businesses this year. And what better way to support local than by trying out some local foods and sipping on some of the best local beers that the world has to offer? (Okay, maybe we’re being a little biased–since we’re a Calgary-based small business, but trust us–these are some really, really good beers.)

It’s going to be safe.

Calgary International Beerfest has put in extra effort to ensure the safety of Beerfest attendees. So that means, all guests will have to remain masked (unless you’re throwing back and cold one, obviously) and to attend the festival, it’s required that you have either:

  • At least one vaccination shot,
  • A negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of your event time,
  • Or an exemption letter from a physician

Beerfest has put these in safety measures in place to ensure the health and safety of all patrons in attendance and their close contacts and loved ones! The festival greatly appreciates your cooperation and help in keeping everyone safe and protected.

More reasons to attend, according to BeerFest:

You don’t wanna miss this beer event.

We rise by lifting others

One of the biggest things we have missed by not being able to do our events is how we support our Charities of Choice. This year, we’ll once again be supporting Kids Up Front and AAFS – by coming out to the event, you’ll be helping make great things happen for these amazing organizations.

Never miss a beat!

Beerfest will again feature the Village Brewing Music Stage featuring incredible local talent. You’ll also be able to check out the vibe in the legendary Cold Garden lounge where DJs will be spinning for the whole festival.

“Eat, Drink & Be Merry!”

In addition to the over 160 breweries, distilleries, cideries, meaderies and RTD (ready to drink beverages) you can sample at the festival, you’ll also be able to taste delicious food from over 25 fantastic local pubs, restaurants, and eateries. Yummy is spelled B-E-E-R-F-E-S-T!

Be the Hermione Granger of Beerfest!

The ever-popular Hoppy Pass Brew Master Seminars and Cooking with Beer Seminars are back and will give you the chance to be the ‘Best In Your Year’ by learning what beers pair well with what foods and hearing cool stories behind the scenes of the breweries and distilleries. Then next time you’re trying to sound impressive – you’ll have cool stories to tell!

An experience like no other

We like to think our festivals are the best in the world – but with this year’s being held during Covid, being there will be something you can tell your grandkids about years from now. ‘Back in my day, we had to wear masks to the festival, and we weren’t even trying to rob it!’ Unique is cool – unique tells better stories – and this will be a unique year to come out to celebrate community and support local.
