A brilliant duo composed of Francis Lalonde and Jean-Denis Nadeau-Lambert won this third edition of the Brewer's challenge with the 24 carats, an elegant barley wine with carobs and figs. After a long three-hour boiling period, this strong beer came out and was infused with one of its star ingredients, the carob, a fruit whose seed was used as a weight unit by the merchants of antiquity during the gold trade. 24 carats like pure gold; 24 carats like a soft and refined beer.
