Aprikat is based on North American style wheat ales. A great wheat ale stands out with a brilliantly clear and crisp taste. For Aprikat, they add a natural apricot extract to produce a nice (but not over-sweet) taste with a fresh aroma and big fruity finish. Aprikat is brewed with 50% malted wheat and fermented with the house ale yeast. Aprikat has a medium carbonation that gives a light, crisp straw-coloured pour.
The Beer Maven
The aroma of apricots is distinctive, if your not sure about ‘fruit beers’ and want to ease into the idea this is the perfect beer for you. If your saying nope I love that shit, then pop in half a fresh apricot after you pour it and enjoy the crushability of Alley Kat’s best seller.
I am a dark beer drinker through and through but I wanted to stretch my tastes a little and venture into the ever popular summer drink category. I’ve featured a variety of beers and even some ciders and hard iced teas. Everything is Canadian craft except for a couple Belgians thrown in the mix. Thank you to Bowen Island Brewing , Whistler Brewery, Big Rock, Steamworks, 49th Parallel Group, Alley Kat, Tool Shed, Yukon Brewing and Hey Y’all for sending these samples my way to feature. Cheers guys and happy summer drinking !
