Sea Change brewers took a vacation with rival city brewery Cabin Brewing Co to brew Beach House; a hop-heavy IPA that’s assertive but fruity, punchy but soft. They used Cosmic Punch, a thiolized yeast strain, plus 3 different hop products added at 4 different points of the brewing process. Excessive? Yes. But it didn’t stop there, they also used proprietarily flash-frozen fresh hops during the whirlpool to kick it up a notch. Thus, the descriptor, Frozen Fresh Hopped IPA. If you’re going to partner up with some of Calgary’s best brewers, you know you have to take it over the top.

Aromas of nectarine and honeysuckle lead into pineapple and cantaloupe, followed by just-assertive-enough bitterness and a subtle off-dry finish. Pillowy mouthfeel and clean supporting malt character combine to provide a well-balanced structure for this unique expression of hops.
