Beer 101: Strong Ale

A strong British Ale, a "Wee Heavy" in Scotland or Old (Stock) Ale in England, this historical beer was brewed to be blended in other beers or served on special occasions, particularly cold evenings by the fire. Amber to brown in colour with rich malt and fruity esters on the nose - the palate can expect malty, toffee/caramel flavours with light bitter balance from the hops, ending with a warming alcohol smooth finish.
