Black Currant Gose

Alberta, Canada
4.7% ABV

When you put 17 women from the brewing industry together in a brewery for International Women's Collaboration Brew Day, you get a damn fine beer! A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this beer are used to establish the Pink Boots Bursary; this bursary helps
women enrolled in the Olds College Brewmaster & Brewery Operations Management Course. The beer is a refreshing German Gose. It has a subtle tartness and like traditional goses a mild salt finish. The fermenter was then jam packed with over 100 kilos of fresh black current purée.

"A Gose style beer brewed with fresh black currant purée. Pours a unique light pink color and offers a huge assortment of flavours. From sweet to tart to salty this beer has it all. Brewed for 2016 International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day, where females in the brewing industry gather to create a beer. Some of the proceeds go to the Pink Boots Society."

I am a dark beer drinker through and through but I wanted to stretch my tastes a little and venture into the ever popular summer drink category. I’ve featured a variety of beers and even some ciders and hard iced teas. Everything is Canadian craft except for a couple Belgians thrown in the mix. Thank you to Bowen Island Brewing , Whistler Brewery, Big Rock, Steamworks, 49th Parallel Group, Alley Kat, Tool Shed, Yukon Brewing and Hey Y’all for sending these samples my way to feature. Cheers guys and happy summer drinking !
