About Cuckoo For Coconuts by Ferment.Drink.Repeat.(FDR) Brewery
Cuckoo. Adjective - "mad; crazy." FDR had the cuckoo idea to painstakingly toast flaked, organic coconut to a perfect, golden brown, then added it to the mash and boil at an insane rate of 10# per barrel. They brewed this beer with homebrewer and CrowdBrewed supporter Randy Swanson, using a recipe for which he's won several awards - the Brown Ale base provides a firm background of biscuit, chocolate, and roasted notes on which the toasted coconut harmoniously sings without being overpowering.
