The third release in Cigar City’s Dark Woods series is a svelt Strong Brown Ale brewed with Golden Promise, a complex base malt from the United Kingdom, and five other special malt varieties for a depth of flavor not commonly found in the style. The addition of experimental hops lends an added dimension of coconut, while an aging process involving African Padauk and Sugar Maple lends vanilla notes and balanced tannins.
