About Village Gardener Basil IPA by Village Brewery

This year Village Brewery has been blessed with plenty of hops and basil enabling them to make a very special IPA. Everything was grown in neighbourhood back yards as well as these 12 communities. Parkdale, Bridgeland-Riverside, Killarney-Glengarry, Inglewood, Glenmore, Wildwood, Winston Heights, Hillhurst/Sunnyside, Mid-Sun, Southwood, Bankview and grow Calgary. They also included locally sourced two-row malted barley from our friends at Red Shed Malting. A special thanks to ATB agriculture for their ongoing support. We truly hope you enjoy this community involved ale experience, made better together.

The Beer Maven
When you mix fresh community picked local ingredients with a passion for perfection. You get Village Brewery's newest Gardener brew. The Calgary hops compete with the freshly picked basil for aroma and flavour. It's the funnest competition yet because it's a win-win for your taste buds. I picture little hops and basil leaves wearing boxing gloves dooking it out on my tongue. I was honored to be part of the crew who picked the hops for this brew. Cheers to teamwork!
