About Griffin by Grimm Brothers Brewhouse
This traditional German style Hefeweizen fermented with Blood Orange Puree. The German Hefeweizen style is traditionally a blend of wheat and pilsner malt, this combines with a yeast that produces a unique ester profile with flavors of banana and cloves with an often dry or tart finish. The hop profile tends to be on the low side. The “Hefe” prefix means “with yeast”, hence the beers unfiltered and cloudy appearance. At the end of fermentation they add Blood Orange puree to accentuate the citrus character and produce a very drinkable wheat beer that is far from sweet and fruity, but has just the right amount of citrus bite.
