This spiced Imperial Pumpkin Ale is Autumn in a glass. Real pumpkin added into the mash brings a rich, smooth base to this copper colored ale. The recipe for this seasonal favorite was based on another seasonal beer at the Dry Dock tasting room, Half Moon Pumpkin Ale. The Half Moon Pumpkin Ale is so well received year after year that the Dry Dock brewers wanted to create an imperial version of the beer. The additional malt used in the Imperial Pumpkin Ale, along with real pumpkin added into the mash, gives the beer a rich, smooth base that creates a strong backbone to support the powerful flavors of the added cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, mace, and clove.
