Le Champion 4.5% is a French style blonde beer originally brewed to celebrate the Tour de France Grand Depart in Yorkshire. After a successful launch in 2014 and a great second run last year it will be reappearing one last time for a short period from the 18th March until Mid-may, if stocks last. Its return is to mark the Tour de Yorkshire cycling event which takes place from 29th April to 1st May 2016. This year’s 3 day international cycling event will take in some new areas of Yorkshire.
A blonde beer made in the French style. It is brewed with Alsace Strisselspalt hops and continental malts to give a smooth body and a delicate hop fragrance.
Food Pairings: This blonde beer cuts right through the oiliness of any fish dish such as mackerel pate, smoked salmon, fish & chips. It’s also great with delicate chicken recipes like Caesar salad or coconut based Thai curry. For dessert, why not try a zingy lemon tart.
