Originating in the farmhouses of Wallonia in the French speaking region of Belgium, Saison (French, “season”) was brewed for field workers during the harvest season. Red Rock is proud to present a modern version of this once endangered style of beer. Moderately hopped, this refreshing ale boasts a complex style of fruity aroma and flavor, some spiciness and a hint of tartness.
Oh my! What do we have in here? Do we have some brett? Whatever yeast was used, we’ve definitely got some funky going on, in a Berliner Weisse kind of way. Citric tones are there as an accent. Tartness, through and through, but not overdone or overbearing. Refreshing, yet biting. Chewy, yet smooth. I call this an outstanding beer. Especially considering the style. This may become my go-to beer for Utah.
