The beer pours a deep brown/black with a brown head. The smell of the beer is chocolate, pumpkin, malts and coffee. The flavor is complex with coffee, chocolate, malts, ginger and a small hit of pumpkin and hops. The beer has an alcohol content of 6.5%. You will die to try this beer! (Mike's Craft Beer)
The Lost Souls Chocolate Pumpkin Porter blends chocolate malts, pumpkin pie spicing and an English strain of yeast for a rich, fruity taste.
BC Beer Me (10/2013)
The flavour is not way out there as some pumpkin beers are. This is a Chocolate Porter first and a Pumpkin beer second. The flavour starts off with toasted malt that builds into a chocolatey center. In the beer’s mid-section comes some notes of nutmeg and pumpkin spice but nothing here is overbearing. The Lost Souls finishes off very dry with a lingering chocolate flavour and the slightest of nutmeg. This beer is a great choice for someone who wants some fall inspiration but would rather leave the pumpkin for after thanksgiving dinner.
85 / All treat, no trick: the rich and robust Lost Souls Chocolate Pumpkin Porter is so good, even the living dead will indulge.
