Memphis by Black Bellows Brewing Company in Ontario, Canada

About Memphis by Black Bellows Brewing Company

This Belgian-style dubbel was fermented for 9 months with Brettanomyces bruxellensis and finished with French oak. The result is an amazingly dry and refreshing beer that is full of flavour.

The name, Memphis, is borrowed from an Italian design group that came to prominence in the 1980s for their lighthearted attitude and rejection of super slick 1970s aesthetics. Black Bellows Brewing is inspired by that lighthearted approach to making serious things, so they think the title fits this beer which they essentially never meant to make. In fact they brewed too much of their dubbel in 2016, so they decided to start a nearly year-long experiment in aging and maturation. With notes of tobacco, vanilla, cocoa, dark fruits, fresh cut wood and light smoke, what a journey this one takes you on!

We make phenomenal Belgian-inspired beer and distribute it to our favourite places in Ontario.
