An imperial porter matured in French Brandy barrels for 8 months.
Appearance: Night black with burnt caramel highlights when held against the light. The beige foam is thin and sheer.
Nose: Notes of tobacco, raisins, marzipan and caramelized sugar add to the chocolate base of this porter, testifying to its prolonged stay in Brandy barrels.
Palate: The silky texture is enhanced by a light carbonation and supple tannins from oak. The balance of flavors is delicate until the middle of the mouthful, halfway between candied fruit, cocoa and sweet spices, before falling clearly on the side of dark chocolate in a long and comforting finish.
Aging potential: Good aging potential. Will reach its peak after 1-2 years in cellar conditions.
