About Past Masters Double Stout by Fuller's Brewery

Back when Fuller’s originally brewed Double Stout, stout simply meant strong. Now, of course, in modern brewing parlance, stout is a style all of its own. It’s to be expected that a few things have changed in that time though – we first brewed it in 1893.

Almost black but with crimson highlights, this creamy beer offers a rich, fruity aroma and smoky, bittersweet chocolate notes. Bitter hops find the tongue, but they’re balanced by creamy malt, as the beer draws towards a velvety, lasting finish with hints of dark fruit, chocolate and coffee.

The Fuller's Brewery in Chiswick, London dates back to 1828, but Fuller's has been brewing for more than 160 years. As you might expect, it’s a place with plenty of tales to tell.
