This refreshing Vienna lager is Smuttynose's version of the beer originally brewed in 1841 Vienna by Brewmaster Anton Dreher. Pinniped Special is brewed very authentically using a combination of German and American ingredients to create a smooth complex malt flavor with notes of caramel and toasted bread. This is counterbalanced by a clean hop flavour and bitterness. Finish is slightly dry and cleansing. Additionally Smuttynose brews it in their German Steinecker brew house using a traditional decoction method. Overall these all work together to make a very balanced and genuine Vienna Lager Herr Dreher would be proud of.
