Coffee and roast smells on the nose, a round and smooth malty mouth feel, this beer has a low hop profile and is predominantly malty. Some of the malts used are highly roasted which adds an astringency that offsets the sweetness of the residual sugar and the caramel flavours of the other malts used. Think bittersweet chocolate and caramel.
This beer is exactly what the doctor ordered for a cozy night fireside or post-Polar Bear swim!
