Our take on a schwarzbier (black lager beer) is spiked with 3 kinds of rye (roggen). It pours a deep blackish brown with a persistent tight head and a high level of carbonation for a crisp finish. The flavor starts with a little sweet malt and dark chocolate, but quickly transitions into a smooth roasted grain flavor and hints of coffee, but without bitterness. Next comes a spicy earthiness from the rye and a dry, smooth finish from the long lagering period.
