About Sticke Alt by Heater Allen Brewing

"Sticke" means "secret" in German. The Sticke Alt was actually a pleasant mistake made by an Alt producer in Dusseldorf that became so popular they continued to produce it several times a year, typically for release in October and January. Heater Allen's Sticke Alt was first made in 2013 with the NW Chapter of the Pink Boots Society (a group of women beer professionals) and was Lisa's very first recipe. They liked the Sticke so much that they decided to make it a regular seasonal. This beer is perfect for the fall. It's rich malty notes are balanced with a nice hoppy zing on the finish.

Heater is Rick's wife Jan's maiden name, and Allen is his last name. He figures that you should always give your wife first billing. While Rick has little German heritage on his side of the family, most of Jan's family is of German descent. Their daughter Lisa who works for the brewery is a true Heater Allen.
