2014 marked a year of experimentation of hops & malts in Blackwater Draw's SMaSH IPA series. Vigorous testing (tasting) of these batches allowed them to discern what each and malt and hop could bring to an IPA. What did they do with this knowledge? Blackwater Draw brewed Timber Snake IPA, a wonderful blend of Maris Otter, Crystal & Vienna malts. A generous addition of Warrior, Millennium & Cascade hops balances the malty sweetness of this IPA with a pleasant hop bitterness. They dry-hopped with over a pound per barrel of Mosaic & Amarillo to create a rich IPA with a very fragrant and pleasant nose that should please any hop head. Cheers!!
