Originally called Velvet Merkin until Firestone Walker got a case of cold feet, this beer was renamed Velvet Merlin in honor of Bremaster Matt “Merlin” Brynildson, who earned the nickname because of his magical ability to rack up top honors at prestigious beer competitions. Velvet Merlin is a decadent oatmeal stout that will warm your innards on a cold winter night. It offers robust cocoa and espresso aromas with subtle American hop nuances.
