Opening

The Blind Tiger Brewery & Restaurant opened our doors May 1, 1995. We were first Craft Brewery in Topeka and the largest brewery in Kansas at that time.

Our Name

The Blind Tiger Brewery & Restaurant is named for the Prohibition-era custom of illegal drinking establishments displaying stuffed tigers or china tigers to alert potential patrons to the availability of illicit alcohol after hours. In southern dialect a “tiger” was a roaring party. These “tigers” were “blind” because the authorities, at least officially, did not know they existed. Welcome to our speakeasy!

Flagship Beers

We try to have all six of our flagship beers on tap all the time. If we are out of one of these it will be back in just a few days:  Raw Wheat, County Seat Wheat, Raspberry Wheat, Holy Grail Pale Ale, Tiger Paw Porter, Tiger Bit IPA

Craft Beers On Tap

In addition to our flagship beers above we serve at least six more different Blind Tiger Craft Beers on any given day getting us to twelve of our beers on tap. That has been known to spike as high as 18 of our beers on tap at a time. Our brewing team has at least 250 recipes, so your favorite seasonal or specialty beer might take a little while to come around again in the rotation.

Menu

One of our slogans is Steak - Pasta - Seafood - Barbeque. That is to let you know about our large menu with a broad selection. Family Dining and friendly service is our hallmark.

Restaurant & Bar

You can catch your favorite sporting event on one of 20 televisions in the bar area and lounge, or enjoy a quieter family atmosphere in our expansive dining room and atrium. The Blind Tiger Brewery is a big establishment, with a multi-level interior providing a relaxing atmosphere. The bar, lounge, dining room, atrium and deck have a homey, comfortable feel, right next to the brewhouse and fermenter area which have an industrial look, thus providing a very interesting contrast.

Seating is on eight different levels, including an outdoor deck. Our unique lighting, and richly decorated rough cedar interior creates an comfortable, friendly ambience for everyone to enjoy.
