About Border Psycho Brewery
"In our family we like good food and that is why we always have a good drink at the table and from there the taste for good food and good drinking." Roberto Albarran.
Living in Mexico City, Roberto and Javier Albarran decided to come to Tijuana, Roberto started as a banker and Javier in the area of marketing and advertising.
Upon arrival in Tijuana they realized the example of the western part of the United States, considered as the craft beer capital.
This coincides with Javier's studies as a sommelier, in his studies of wines and visits to the vineyards to which I invite Roberto and at that time they were fully nailed in the quality of local products, in good wine, and good beer.
Having tried the proposals of the southern and western part of the United States on a good day ... destiny.
Roberto after working 20 years at the bank, left that job and approached Javier and said "Let's make beer."
They decided to make their own beer brand, Border Psycho, which was something they really loved and wanted to take advantage of each other's knowledge and strengths.
They were never "Home Brewers" and began this new stage by buying a small team with 4 different styles of beer. Border Psycho was released in March 2012. At first they were questioned if there were many styles but with the good reception they realized that no and little by little the family grew and now they have 7 styles of beer in the market.
