About Due South Brewing Co.
Due South is an independent, Veteran owned, craft brewery with beer in 1000+ stores, bars and restaurants from Orlando to Key West and in the Florida Panhandle. Every beer we make is proudly brewed right here in Southeast Florida in Boynton Beach. The brewery is housed in a large 27,000 square foot warehouse where dozens of beers are produced throughout the year on a 15BBL brew system.
We began on a sunny back porch when founder and owner Mike Halker ventured out to a local home brew shop to find wine-making supplies so that he could create sulfite-free wine for his wife Jodi. The shop owner steered Mike towards the beer-making equipment, saying "Wine takes too long." When Mike replied that he didn't like beer, the owner simply quipped, "You haven't had the right beer yet."
Luckily for us, he was right.
After sampling many examples of great beer, Mike created his first batch of homebrewed beer in 2005: a clone of Samuel Adams Boston Lager. Five years and hundreds of 5 gallon batches later, he began to put together his business plan to start a brewery in South Florida.
Due South Brewing Company opened to the public on May 12, 2012 with a modest setup that allowed for a couple of beers to be poured to the incredible crowd that gathered to experience locally crafted beer.
It's About The Beer
In addition to year-round favorites such as Caramel Cream Ale and Category 3 IPA, our taproom hosts over a dozen in-house specialty beers, seasonals, and one-offs. You never know what you may find on tap in the Due South Brewing Co. taproom.
Our taproom is open Tuesdays through Sundays.
Every great beer must be brewed for the first time and some lucky few will be able to say “I drank from the very first batch of that beer in the brewery taproom.”
Due South is currently in bars and restaurants from Orlando, to the Treasure Coast, to Key West.
