We think of our beers as “A Retreat from the Ordinary”.
We brew 3-4 beers a day, six or seven days a week. Each beer has a story, starting with the best ingredients from around the world, twice-filtered water adjusted to be ideal water chemistry for the style of beer we are creating. Ultimately, we brew beer we love to drink; we hope you like to drink it, too.
We have deep roots. Our first brewpub opened in 1987, one of the first half dozen in the Golden State. It is still open. Our production facility in San Jose opened in 2009 and has rapidly earned a seat at the table of the top 5% by volume breweries in the USA. The size gives us a crazy amount of access to technology, people, hops, etc. But you may not have heard about us because we brew for many other Bay Area breweries. Our own brand is just now coming into its own.
