About IX Poets Brewing
Forty years ago, two families moved into homes four doors apart on Coleridge Drive. A friendship was immediately born between the five year old boys in those homes. The neighbourhood streets, IX of them named after famed historical poets, would see the boys grow closer over the years. After spending countless hours playing road hockey and tennis, and attending everything from swimming lessons to birthday parties, the boys grew up and moved away.
Fate would bring the boys back together and Coleridge Drive would become the inspiration of IX Poets’ first ever beer, The Hazy Mariner. This “maiden voyage” for IX Poets drew its name from Samuel Coleridge’s most famous poem, The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere.
