Why Jack's Run You Ask?

Jack's Run is a creek that flows on the western edge of Purcellville into Loudoun County's historic Goose Creek. The name first appears on a colonial map (1749) that shows the county's first land grants. Although the name's origins are unclear, it is likely that it is associated with an early settler. John "Jack" Colvill was granted 1,116 acres west of town in 1740. Jack's Run Brewing Company is a tangible link between Purcellville's historic past and prosperous future.
