About Kings Brewing Company
In 2015 I approached my brother and had a conversation with him about opening a brewery with me. Although he thought I was a bit crazy, he agreed. Our first step was fixing up our childhood house and putting it on the market to sale. After 5 months of fixing up the house it sold and my brother and I received 80k from the sale of the house as a loan from our parents. Right away after the house was sold we started looking for a building and applied for licensing. This was another four months before we found our home in Rancho Cucamonga.
We then went through plan check with the city, water department ect and once the plans got approved construction started. With about $100,000 between the both of us which included cashed in 401k’s and credit card we started building Kings Brewing Company. By the time we were finished we spent closer to $180,000. April 29th 2016 our bank accounts were negative and we just sent in the rent check for the brewery. That gave us no other option but to open on April 30th 2016 so the rent check wouldn’t bounce. April 30th 2016 we opened our doors for the first time just 4 months after construction started. We opened with 9 beers available and we we’re skeptical that people would show. That quickly changed when we had a line the entire first weekend that never went away.
We started Kings Brewing Company with ten 3.5 bbl plastic fermenters that we made. These 10 plastic fermenters gave us a capacity of 70bbl if we turned them all twice a month. These 10 plastic fermenters won 3 GABF medals with no temperature control or jackets. These 10 plastic fermenters paid for a production facility to be built. over the course of 2018 & 2019 we built that production facility two miles away from our current taproom without ever taking any loans. We instead payed ourselves small salaries in order to re invest profits back into the company. This new production facility at full capacity now turns out 250 bbl a month.
Feels good to look back and remember what we started with and what hard work and determination can get you. From my brother and I. We promise to never stop pushing the boundaries and sincerely want to Thank you for being a part of the Kings Family. Please know even know behind the scenes we are working on a few new things to bring you more variety and expand our menu styles.
