About Schoolhouse Brewing
Schoolhouse Brewing 101: An Introductory Course
Over a decade ago, Thomas Monti and Justin Waller found home brewing as a shared interest outside of their love for teaching middle school science. The enjoyment they found in brew days, and a need for constant experimentation, led Thomas to pursue a career change. When Thomas left the classroom, he carried a lifetime of scholarly skills with him and opened up a bottle and growler shop which quickly grew to include home-brewing supplies. It didn’t take long for the store to become a favorite local hangout. The shop served as a place of learning and a bit of a playground, where beer enthusiasts could not only learn about the beer, but also gain tips and lessons in making the beer itself. Thomas and Justin both saw the success of this venture as a sign. Moving to a full-scale brewery was the next logical step. They then spent the next year working up a plan. Then came the revisions. Lots of them. But finally, Schoolhouse Brewing was born.
