About Split Rail Brewing Company
We, Andy (Andrea) and Eleanor, have been friends and colleagues since first meeting in 1981 at Camp Pine Crest in Torrance, Ontario. Life took us in different directions but by 2009 we were neighbours on beautiful Manitoulin Island. Our idea of opening a microbrewery on the Island was hatched at that time and we have been working hard on the project ever since.
Under the guidance of our experienced brewmaster, Glenn Fobes, we have perfected our Split Rail Copper Lager recipe. Our beer is brewed in small batches to an uncompromising standard of taste and quality, and it is as pleasing to the eye as it is a pleasure to drink. Craft beer industry experts give our beer rave reviews, and restaurant and bar owners are eager to sell it.
Thanks to Manitoulin Transport providing a site we have now established a brewing facility at 31 Water Street in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island so that we can meet the growing demand for Split Rail Brewing Company's full line of beer. After our very successful Grand Opening on July 24, 2015 we are now producing bottles and kegs of our inaugural Copper Lager and Hawberry Ale.
Our system is small and the response has been huge so please bear with us as we work to grow our production capabilities while maintaining the integrety of our products. Your feedback on the quality and flavour has us convinced we are doing it right.
We are grateful for the support of our provincial and municipal representativies, our team, our family and friends and all of you who have offered feedback and words of encouragement. We couldn't have gotten to this point without all of you. We look forward to welcoming you to our Brewhouse and retail outlet. Join us for a taste and a tour.
