A Beer and Bite Back for a Night

Come down on Augut 20th to join us as we enjoy a historic lager that hasn't been brewed in 78 years! From the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History archives center comes a beer with New York, Oregon, and Bavarian hops, a combination not seen anywhere in the DC brewing scene and likely nowhere else in the world. Amsterdam, 1940 was brewed in collaboration with Lost Lagers, DC's leading beverage research firm, and The Bruery Store. The delectable pale lager will be served alongside a historic bite also born of a recipe buried deep in the museum's archives, dug up and prepared especially for this occasion to honor beer and food history. Come hear a panel featuring the Smithsonian's Katharine Mead, author/historian Garrett Peck, and Lost Lagers. The food and beer history event highlights historic recipes from the Museum’s Archives Center.
