Golden West Beer Tour | Oakland & Berkeley, Aug 12

Come down on August 12th for a guided tour where you check out the best local breweries, drink amazing beers, meet great people and not have to worry about a thing!

Oakland was at one time one of the largest beer brewing cities in the country until Prohibition ended the city’s golden glow. But thanks to several microbrewers it is buzzing again. For the last few years Oakland and Berkeley have emerged as a craft beer goldmine and the location of some of the best microbreweries, brewpubs and beer bars in the Golden State.

This tour showcases classic beer styles, hidden gems in the local craft beer scene and good times to be had by all.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• You will be greeted by your friendly guide at the designated meeting location. After making sure everyone is present and has proper ID, you will all board safe and comfortable transportation. While on board you may enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages.  

• Travel to 3 local microbreweries where you will enjoy beer flights that give you the best opportunity to taste a variety of beer styles at each brewery. The best part is you don't have to wait in line for your beer. Your guide will happily help you make your beer picks and bring them to you! In total you will have approximately 15 different beers!  

• You will learn how beer is made and about the quality ingredients that make it taste so good! Have more beer questions? Your guide is a certified Cicerone and ready to share beer knowledge with you. 

• If you get hungry you can grab lunch at one of the food trucks outside the breweries. They are there waiting to serve you anything from nachos to sausages. All go great with a craft beer!

• Don't forget to take plenty of pictures, play some games, and request a song or two throughout the day! This beer experience is one to not be forgotten. 

• Want to show your appreciation to the brewery staff...don't worry, all gratuity for your beer-tenders is included! 

• At the end of your tour, you will be dropped off in the same location where you were picked up. If interested, your guide is happy to suggest other fun places in the area to visit.

Pick Up and Drop Off Location is in front of the fountain at Latham Square Plaza. in Oakland at the intersection of Broadway and Telegraph Avenue. 2 blocks from 19th Street Bart station.
