At Get Cooking, Chefs Kathryn Joel and Doreen Prei’s motto is "Think Local. Cook Global" as their goal is to inspire Edmontonians to cook with ingredients sourced from local producers and businesses, while exploring flavours and techniques from around the world. Kathryn Joel has been cooking her whole life and studied at London's Le Cordon Bleu, then Leith's School of Food and Wine. A Michelin-star trained, award winning chef, Doreen Prei grew up in Germany and has cooked in private restaurants and hotels in Germany, Ireland, and Canada. She trained in Berlin at First Floor Restaurant, before moving to Dublin where she cooked at the Four Seasons Hotel, Chapter One, and with Gordon Ramsay. Doreen won silver at her first Gold Medal Plates Championship in 2016 and won gold at the Canadian Food Championships in the Seafood category. Join Kathryn and Doreen as they create globally inspired dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients to pair with the craft beers of Alley Kat Brewing with owner Neil Herbst, Wood Buffalo Brewing with brewer Jackson Hale and the wines of Two Sisters Vineyards featuring winemaker Adam Pearce and Liquidity Wines featuring winemaker Alison Moyes.
