Chris Hanks started playing the guitar when he was 12 years old. He took a few lessons but mostly learned on his own. He grew up listening to country music. Growing up in a not so country town. Chris started listening to a lot of different types of music like rap, r&b, rock, classic rock, southern rock and reggae. Country has always been where his heart is. He didn't play and sing a lot during high school and college but started back strong in his early twenties. It took Chris some time to break the fear of playing in front of people, you wouldn't be able to tell now. Chris performs lots of cover songs all across the board from country to rock to reggie and on. You don't have to like country music to enjoy Chris Hank's style of music.
