In February of 2001, at the age of 45, my father was given 3-5 years to live. His children were 18, 15, 12, and 11. Through the dedication of his medical team and the efforts of organizations like the IMF, my dad was able to see each of his children graduate from college and start careers. He walked my older sister down the aisle and watched her belly grow with his first grandson. In February of 2013, my father's battle with multiple myeloma ended in the same way it started - surrounded by his wife and children telling him that they loved him. Although his fight is over, the myeloma community's is not.

Back in 2001, my siblings and I started The Wamp Swim and raised over $125,000 for the IMF over the next ten years. Our relationship with them has only continued to grow. The Wamp Swim was a huge bragging point for my dad, who would sit in the doctor's office and hand out IMF bracelets, pamphlets, and pins to new myeloma patients and talk to them about their diagnosis.

The Red House Carnival fundraiser is an evening of fun, featuring a water pong tournament and backyard games. My dad loved good craft beer, Jimi Hendrix, and his family. This event is meant to highlight each of those aspects of his life. Through the support of local organizations like the Wegman’s Chestnut Hill, Whole Foods Brighton, Café Nation, and OTTO Pizza, the event last July was a huge success. Over the course of its first three years, this event has raised close to $20,000 in single night events that have been massively fun. We will once again be taking over the Aeronaut Brewery for a Sunday Funday in Somerville! This year, The 4th Annual Red House Carnival will be held on July 16 from 7-10pm. I am looking for local organizations to sponsor tables in order to help me reach my goal of raising a total of $50,000 that would sponsor a research grant. Each table will have signage on either side that will be clearly visible both by participants and in photos from the event. There are different levels of sponsorship as well:  

- Band of Gypsies: $125, 1/4 page ad

- The Experience: $250, 1/2 the table name, and their logo on the website and on a tshirt (if submitted before 6/25)

- James Marshall: $500, a whole table name, logo on the website and on a tshirt (if submitted before 6/25) , and free admission for one team.
